Decorating Your Wooden Gazebo
Wooden Gazebos are a relaxing place to sit and socialize
with family and friends, or just by yourself to enjoy the
summer evening with a book...
They add beauty and functionality to a backyard or any open
area. There are many ways to decorate your garden gazebo to fit
all seasons without breaking the bank.
Commonly, wooden gazebos are
octagon in shape. Start with screwing in plant hooks in the
center of all sections, excluding entryways. These hooks can be
used for everything from hanging plants to paper lanterns
depending on the season. If you live in an area where you get
hummingbirds, consider hanging baskets with plant attractive to
the hummers, or hang a hummingbord feeder.
Strings of mini lights can set a great mood in the gazebo.
Target is one store with inexpensive light strings with a lot
of character -everything from chinese lanterns, to moroccan
colored glass lights. You can hang them around the inner lip of
the roof, or they can be twirled around the railing if you use
the small light strings used for the Christmas Holiday. Get
lights that will give you enough light.
Cushions for the benches can set the mood for your gazebo.
Colorful with stripes or other summer patterns with matching
colors for table cloth or place mats. Don't forget a nice
potted plant, or vases with fresh cut wildflowers.
Decorating your Gazebo for a
Wedding
What could be more fun than decorating your garden gazebo
for a wedding? Tulle is a must of course. Hang it from a
rafter, stream it on the inside of the roof, twirl it around
the base of the gazebo and attach flowers at each rafter. Hang
flower garlands in each opening, and strew flower petals on the
gazebo floor...
If you are using your gazebo in the fall, many fun
opportunities abound to decorate your gazebo for Thanks giving
and for Halloween. Hang ghosts in the openings, spiderwebs can
be used in a thousand different ways in a gazebo, add black
candelabras, and a whitch or two, and you will have your own
haunted house, or haunted gazebo, rather.
Decorating your gazebo for Christmas can be a
lot of fun. Go all out with lights and hang wrapped boxes
with pretty bows all over your gazebo. If your climate is
somewhat temperate you may want to use a gas heater to
extend the usage of your wooden gazebo.
